How It Works

The username generator offers two modes. The standard mode combines carefully curated word pools using cryptographic randomness via the Web Crypto API - no data leaves your browser. The AI mode sends your keywords, platform, and style preferences to a language model, which generates 10 personalized suggestions based on your input. Both modes respect each platform's constraints: YouTube's 15-character limit, Instagram's symbol restrictions, Discord's flexibility, and more.

AI Mode: Keyword-Driven Username Generation

AI mode lets you describe yourself and get username suggestions that reflect your personality rather than random word combinations. Toggle AI Mode in the options panel, enter a few keywords about your interests or identity, then generate.

• Keyword input: Describe your interests, hobbies, or aesthetic in a short phrase. The AI blends and transforms these ideas rather than just appending them to generic words.
• Style-aware output: Your chosen style (Cool, Creative, Aesthetic, etc.) shapes how the AI interprets your keywords - the same input produces very different results across styles.
• Platform-aware: The AI respects character limits and symbol restrictions for your selected platform, the same as the standard mode.
• Capitalization control: Your capitalization preference (lowercase, TitleCase, UPPERCASE) is applied to every suggestion.

AI mode uses 1 credit per generation.

Platform-Specific Username Rules

Different platforms have different requirements for usernames. Here's what you need to know:

• Discord Usernames: Discord allows letters, numbers, underscores, and periods. Usernames can be 2-32 characters. Our generator respects these limits and suggests names perfect for your Discord identity.
• TikTok Usernames: TikTok usernames can only contain letters, numbers, underscores, and periods, with a 24-character maximum. They must be unique across the platform. The generator automatically excludes symbols for TikTok.
• YouTube Handles: YouTube handles are limited to 15 characters and can only use letters, numbers, periods, and hyphens. They must be at least 3 characters. Our generator creates concise, memorable handles that fit these constraints.
• Instagram Usernames: Instagram allows up to 30 characters with letters, numbers, periods, and underscores. Names are case-insensitive. The generator creates aesthetic names that look great in your Instagram bio.
• Roblox Usernames: Roblox usernames can be 3-20 characters with letters, numbers, and underscores. They cannot contain spaces or special characters. Our generator ensures all suggestions meet Roblox's requirements.
• Gaming Platforms: Gaming tags (Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, etc.) vary widely. Our Gaming mode allows symbols and creates edgy, competitive-sounding names that work across most gaming platforms.

• Creative Usernames: Artistic, imaginative, and unique. Features words like whimsical, luminous, ethereal, melodic, celestial. Ideal for artists, writers, musicians, and creative professionals.
• Aesthetic Usernames: Soft, gentle, and visually pleasing. Uses pastel colors, nature elements, and cozy words like peach, honey, kitten, cottage. Popular on TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest.
• Funny Usernames: Playful, silly, and memorable. Combines goofy words like wacky, chunky, sleepy with fun nouns like pickle, waffle, penguin. Great for casual streamers and content creators.
• Dark Usernames: Mysterious, intense, and moody. Features words like grim, twisted, fallen, crypt, reaper. Popular in gothic, horror, and alternative communities.
• Edgy Usernames: Bold, aggressive, and attention-grabbing. Uses the classic xX_Username_Xx format reminiscent of early 2000s gaming culture. Perfect for ironic or nostalgic appeal.

Tips for Creating the Perfect Username

Whether you're building a brand or just want a cool gaming tag, follow these principles:

• Keep it short and memorable: Shorter usernames are easier to type, share, and remember. Aim for under 15 characters when possible. Avoid long strings of numbers that are hard to communicate verbally.
• Make it easy to spell: If you tell someone your username in person, they should be able to spell it correctly. Avoid obscure spellings, excessive X's or Z's, or confusing letter/number substitutions.
• Consider your audience: A username perfect for gaming might not suit a professional LinkedIn profile. Think about where you'll use this name and who will see it.
• Avoid personal information: Don't include your birth year, address, phone number, or real name in public usernames. This protects your privacy and security.
